The Disintegrating Space series is inspired by the architecture found in three affordable areas of London: Peckham, Brixton and Lewisham. Through translating the bright colours, patterns and unusual structural forms of the architecture found in these places, I strove to portray their exciting atmospheres. I wanted to signify the importance of affordable areas of London for the creative community, alongside persistent gentriï¬cation and the ever-growing London housing crisis. The artworks represent these places as exciting creative hubs, full of opportunities and inspiration, provided by creative, resourceful people and shared with all.
This work in particular was inspired by a bridge in Lewisham.
